Isle of Wight Residential September 2024
Thursday 26th September
Despite a rainy day, we managed to get out and about and had fun. We started at Carisbrooke Castle and learnt about castle life. The childrern couldn't believe the luxury that Charles I lived in despite being in prison. Then we drove to Shanklin and walked through the Chine. This was followed by a walk along the esplanade and an ice cream break.
The evening finished with a fantastic disco.
Wednesday 25th September
We enjoyed exploring Amazon World and seeing the Meerkats and Red Panda being fed. Then we headed over to Alum Bay. The glass blowing demonstration was fascinating.
Tuesday 24th September
A really fun packed day. We started at Whippingham Church with a guided tour. We then headed to Osborne House, where we explored the main house before we headed to the Swiss Cottage and the play park for lunch. Next, we enjoyed a trip on the Steam Railway and the Train Story museum. A short break before dinner and then we all enjoyed playing on the beach.
Monday 23rd September
We had a slow journey down to Portsmouth, but arrived just in time for the rain to stop and the sun to appear. We enjoyed lunch in the Historic Dockyards before a really interesting tour of HMS Victory. Then it was time to board the ferry and travel to our hotel. We settled into our rooms and then enjoyed dinner together. After this we walked down to the beach and played for a while
