Children's Work
On the 9th March we joined the year Ones to plant elder, blackthorn and rowan. We planted them by digging holes and putting the sapling in. In total there were 105 saplings that we have planted them to form a hedge around our woodland. We also put tree guards around them to protect them whilst they grow and supported them with canes to keep them steady. I enjoyed planting the saplings although they didn’t look like they would ever grow into trees. We planted them for 3 reasons the Queens Jubilee, to provide a habitat and to help the environment. I enjoyed it because I haven’t seen saplings before and I enjoyed doing it with Class One.
