Values Education
St John the Baptist prides itself on its strong Christian ethos which underpins all of school life.
Values Education is embedded into all areas of the curriculum. Each half term the school focuses on a different Christian Value and explores this through explicit Values lessons and through Collective Worship. At the end of each half term the teachers nominate a child as the Values Champion for their class.
Our aim is for children to understand and be able to identify and articulate the importance of values in their own lives, now and in the future.
Our Values are: Generosity, Compassion, Courage, Forgiveness, Friendship, Respect, Thankfulness, Trust, Perseverance, Justice, Service, Truthfulness,
Our value this half term is:
Thankfulness
“Count your blessings” is an old saying, but it reminds us to be thankful and not take things for granted.
As we explore the value of thankfulness we will be thinking about:
Remembering to let other people know when you are thankful
Not taking things for granted
Practical ways of showing gratitude
How it feels when someone thanks you!
Values Champions 2024-25
